This striking project is the innovative rejuvenation and reinvention of an important but unloved courtyard in Central London.
St Martin’s Courtyard is a mixed-use retail and restaurant destination in Slingsby Place in Covent Garden. The scheme was designed to convert this quiet courtyard into a new food and drink restaurant hub. The design intentionally creates a unique identity to the public realm with large flower arcades and colourful canopies which can attract people away from the typical market area tourist attractions into this new exciting location. The restaurants have been designed with a new arcade to provide undercover alfresco dining and first floor terrace space for the summer.
Three entrances to the courtyard have been individually treated including fifty meter long flower arcade, dichroic glass canopy and Corian clad bay window. The development is part of a series of connected courtyards north of Long Acre now known as The Yards, Covent Garden. Restaurant tenants include Dishoom, Lahpet, Miscusi and Bill’s.
